Abstract

パルプ漂白方法において,ECF漂白転換後,完成パルプの褪色が課題とされてきた。我々はこの褪色対策として,パルプ中に残留するヘキセンウロン酸(HexA)の除去を目的に,漂白シーケンス(a―Z/D―Eop―D)のa段にモノ過硫酸(MPS)の添加を検討した。MPS漂白の実機導入に向けて,MPSのオンサイト製造が問題となった。これまでにMPSオンサイト製造例は報告されていなかったが,三菱ガス化学(株)との共同研究の末,硫酸と過酸化水素を高濃度で使用し,実験室レベルと同等のMPS収率を実機レベルで得ることが可能となった。MPS処理段(Px段)の実機導入開始以降は,HexA量の低減が確認され,パルプの褪色程度を示す過マンガン酸カリウム価(K価)も低下させることが出来た。また,従来の漂白シーケンスで漂白性が発現されなかったa段に対して,MPSを添加したPx段では白色度の向上が見受けられた。従って,漂白工程で使用される二酸化塩素の削減を達成することができ,漂白コスト削減に繋がった。更に,MPS漂白により製造された完成パルプの物性は従来法の物性とほぼ同等であることが判明し,抄紙工程に与えると考えられる要因は観察されなかった。これらの結果,当工場ではMPS製造装置及びパルプの褪色についての大きなトラブルも無く,安定した操業を継続している。
