Abstract

No. 2 machine (PM 2) and No. 3 machine (PM 3) of Ibaraki Mill Takahagi started up in December 1961 and January 1971 each. PM 2 and PM 3 produce total about 450 t/d coating base paper. We adopted TWIN-HSM Coater from BTG, Sweden in May and August 1998 on PM 3 and PM 2 size-press part to improve better quality, to increase production of coating base paper, and to produce machine finished merchandise grade in future.This article introduces the latest operating experience of PM 2, PM 3 and TWIN-HSM.
