ABSTRACT Waste oil source reduction was accomplished on remote site diesel engines by extending oil change intervals using portable field monitors. Incidents of normal and abnormal oil degradation were recorded and correlated between field and laboratory tests. A quality assurance, program evaluated data precision and accuracy.
