This paper is an attempt to evaluate the factors which account for the selection of any particular transportation method. In the final analysis, convenience ranks first when the journey is short. Cost comes into the lead as the length of the journey increases with comfort surpassing it in importance for very lengthy journeys. Where time is the major factor, air transportation, when available, ranks first.
