This is a complicated, but exact way of saying that any channel (converge n t divergent, straight or convergentdivergent) through which fluids expand to convert their heat or pressure energy into velocity in a given direction is a nozzle. Since the mass of gas is given a velocity at the expense of its heat or pressure energy, it is seen that the heat or pressure energy is converted into kinetic energy.
