The eect of Eddy currents on the dynamic behavior of ferromagnetic shape memory alloys in changing magnetic fields is studied. Due to the presence of Eddy currents, the internal magnetic field lags behind the applied field, resulting in a delay in the martensitic variant reorientation. The limitation on the material actuation frequency by this eect is examined.
