A phase-change model for solidification of aluminum parts in a steel mold is studied. Material parameters for this model were obtained from a literature search. There are variations in these parameter values which are used to perform an uncertainty analysis, estimating the influ- ence of these variations on the computed finite element solution. Details of the PDE model, sensitivity equa- tions, their approximations, and the uncertainty analysis are provided.
