5th Annual Reliability and Maintainability Conference, 18 July 1966 - 20 July 1966New York, NY, U.S.A. The article of record may be found at https://doi.org/10.2514/6.1966-25118 There exists a general lack of knowledge and appreciation of Reliability among those Engineers who are not closely allied with the field. In order to improve the overall position, it is necessary that some degree of training in Reliability procedures and concepts be given in engineering schools. This goal could best be achieved by concerted action on the part of the professional societies if they would foster and support such a program.
