Longitud de trabajo en endodoncia

Abstract

En la actualidad existen muchos métodos para determinar la longitud de trabajo o Conductometria en Endodoncia. Entre ellos podemos mencionar el método de Ingle, basado en la medición previa del conducto en la radiografía y luego introducir el instrumento hasta esa longitud y verificar radiográficamente; el de combinar la sensación táctil con verificación radiográfica; basarse en longitudes promedio, fórmulas matemáticas como la propuesta por Kuttler y aparatos electrónicos.La literatura actual aboga por la utilización de estos últirrws por ser aparatos confiables pero han presentado varias limitaciones las que impiden que se popularicen en nuestro medio. En Endodoncia aún hoy en día se trabaja muy "a ciegas" y aunque seguramente en el futuro se deberá tener menos confianza en la radiografía, actualmente es importante que se combine el criterio clínico del operador con una interpretación racional de la radiografía, para obtener una adecuada longitud de trabajo.
