Confort ambiental en escuelas públicas de Cali

Abstract

La calidad de la educación está relacionada con el nivel de atención de los estudiantes durante la jornada escolar. Un ambiente propicio y agradable es entonces clave para obtener los mejores resultados, especialmente cuando se trata de niños que son más reactivos a las condiciones del entorno. Este trabajo caracteriza las situaciones ambientales en escuelas públicas de la ciudad de Cali. La arquitectura de los establecimientos, la densidad ocupacional, las condiciones de temperatura, humedad, viento, ruido, e iluminación son objeto de las observaciones que permiten, conjuntamente con encuestas a docentes y alumnos, diagnosticar el confort y su relación con los propósitos pedagógicos. Las propuestas derivadas de la investigación constituyen insumos para desarrollar intervenciones correctivas de las plantas físicas existentes o para el diseño de nuevas escuelas con integración de criterios bioclimáticos. En efecto, el mejoramiento de la confortabilidad incidirá directamente en la calidad educativa, al propiciar condiciones ambientales óptimas para llevar a cabo las actividades del proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje.
