Pronombres personales y demostrativos en achagua: visión diacrónica

Abstract

El presente artículo confronta las formas pronominales (personales y demostrativos) de la lengua achagua del siglo XVIII con las formas pronominales actuales del achagua y del piapoco. En primera instancia, se comparan las formas del achagua consignadas por los sacerdotes jesuitas Neira y Rivero en el siglo XVIII con las vigentes formas descritas por nosotros. Fruto de esta comparación se analizan, en segunda instancia, las formas similares y principalmente las diferentes del achagua en los dos momentos temporales, buscando las hipótesis más pertinentes, lo que conduce a buscar en la lengua piapoco (la más cercana al achagua de las lenguas arawak-maipure), nuevamente, un contraste, y una mayor posibilidad argumentativa en el planteamiento de hipótesis verosímiles sobre los cambios diacrónicos de achagua respecto a las formas aludidas.
