EnglishThis study determines the statistical importance of the Gross Domestic Product in the trade flow of Ecuador with 20 trading partners of the American continent and obtains the income elasticity of bilateral trade flows based on the gravitational model of foreign trade in relation to the size (mass) of the trading economies. For this work, databases of the nominal GDP of each country expressed in US dollars and the commercial flows denominated in FOB in US dollars were structured. To calculate the elasticities, logarithmic regressions were performed to estimate the respective coefficients.
