Desigualdad en la Infraestructura Sanitaria: Un Análisis de la Equidad y Calidad en los Sistemas de Salud de México

Abstract

La infraestructura sanitaria desempeña un papel fundamental en el funcionamiento de los sistemas de salud, ya que influye directamente en la equidad y calidad de los servicios médicos. En México, persisten marcadas desigualdades en la infraestructura, especialmente entre áreas urbanas y rurales. Este artículo revisa diversas teorías y modelos conceptuales que explican cómo las deficiencias en infraestructura afectan los resultados en salud, y cómo se exacerban las inequidades en las comunidades marginadas. A través de estudios comparativos internacionales, se presentan estrategias como la inversión en tecnología, la telemedicina y la planificación basada en necesidades para abordar estas desigualdades. Las propuestas incluyen la promoción de políticas públicas que prioricen las inversiones en infraestructura en regiones desatendidas y la incorporación de las comunidades locales en el proceso, enfatizando que mejorar la infraestructura no sólo ayuda a la atención de salud, sino que también contribuye a romper el ciclo de marginación.
