
El Observatorio de Recursos Humanos y Necesidades Prioritarias en Salud de la Universidad Veracruzana tiene como objetivo analizar la situación actual y futura de los recursos humanos y las necesidades prioritarias en el ámbito de la salud. Objetivo: Ofrecer un panorama general sobre los recursos humanos que laboran en las instituciones públicas de salud del estado de Veracruz. Métodos: Se consultaron las bases de datos del año 2022 de la Dirección General de Información en Salud, el Instituto Nacional de Estadística, Geografía e Informática (INEGI) y el Consejo Nacional de Población (CONAPO). Se realizó un análisis por jurisdicción sanitaria de las instituciones públicas de salud en Veracruz. Resultados: Veracruz cuenta con 9 974 médicos, 3 016 médicos en formación, 19 041 enfermeras, 750 odontólogos, 732 químicos clínicos, y un número menor de psicólogos, técnicos y nutriólogos. Las jurisdicciones con mayor cantidad de recursos humanos fueron Xalapa y Veracruz, mientras que Martínez de la Torre, Cosamaloapan y San Andrés Tuxtla presentaron los porcentajes más bajos. En 2022, existían 2 008 establecimientos de salud distribuidos en los tres niveles de atención. Overview of human resources in health in Veracruz 2022 Abstract: The Human Resources and Priority Health Needs Observatory at Universidad Veracruzana focuses on analyzing the current and future status of health sector human resources. Objective: To provide a baseline overview of the human resources working in public health institutions across the state of Veracruz. Methods: Data from 2022 was gathered from the General Directorate of Health Information and the National Population Council; public health institutions in Veracruz were analyzed by health jurisdiction. Results: Veracruz has 9,997 physicians, 3,016 physicians in training, 19,041 nurses, 750 dentists, 732 clinical chemists, and smaller numbers of psychologists, technicians, and nutritionists. The health jurisdictions with the highest concentration of human resources were Xalapa and Veracruz, while Martínez de la Torre, Cosamaloapan, and San Andrés Tuxtla had the lowest. In 2022, there were 2,008 healthcare facilities across all three levels of care.
