Hubungan durasi duduk dan hamstring tightness pada mahasiswa kedokteran

Abstract

Fleksibilitas otot penting untuk seseorang merasa bugar sehingga dapat memaksimalkan aktivitas fisik sehari-hari. Namun, disfungsi fleksibilitas sering dialami orang umum hingga olahragawan. Salah satu contoh otot yang dapat mengalami hal ini adalah otot hamstring (hamstring tightness). Otot ini penting untuk berjalan bahkan berlari hingga melompat. Penurunan fleksibilitas otot ini menimbulkan penurunan perfoma dari kegiatan yang menggunakan otot tersebut dan dapat menimbulkan cedera pada otot hamstring. Salah satu faktor yang dapat menyebabkan hamstring tightness ialah duduk dalam waktu yang lama tanpa melakukan peregangan otot dan biasanya dilakukan oleh kebanyakan pekerja kantoran dan pelajar. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan hamstring tightness dengan durasi duduk per harinya pada mahasiswa kedokteran. Studi analitik cross sectional ini dilakukan terhadap 293 mahasiswa kedokteran Universitas Tarumanagara Angkatan 2020-2021. Pengambilan subjek studi menggunakan metode consecutive non-random sampling. Biodata subjek dan durasi duduk diambil mengunakan kuesioner sedangkan data variabel hamstring tightness menggunakan Assessment V-Sit and Reach (VSR) test. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square. Sebanyak 178 (71,2%) subjek dari 250 subjek yang duduk >6 jam mengalami hamstring tightness dan sebanyak 32 (74,4%) subjek dari 43 subjek yang duduk ≤6 jam tidak mengalami hamstring tightness. Hasil studi didapatkan hubungan yang bermakna antara durasi duduk dengan hamstring tightness dengan p-value 0,000 dan PRR 2,783.
