Comparación entre ablación endovenosa vs. cirugía abierta convencional para enfermedad venosa crónica

Abstract

Antecedentes: La enfermedad venosa crónica es consecuencia del daño endotelial en las válvulas venosas que provoca reflujo del sistema venoso profundo al superficial. Se afectan con mayor frecuencia las venas safenas mayores, menores y perforantes; la progresión va desde la aparición de telangiectasias hasta una úlcera venosa crónica. Objetivo: Comparar los resultados postoperatorios, complicaciones y días de estancia hospitalaria entre los pacientes con enfermedad venosa crónica tratados con ablación endovenosa vs. cirugía convencional en una institución de salud pública en México. Método: Se realizó un estudio observacional, retrospectivo, transversal, en el Servicio de Angiología y Cirugía Vascular del Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad del Bajío. Resultados: Se analizaron los datos de 113 pacientes. La cirugía convencional resultó con mayor sangrado y más tiempo de estancia hospitalaria. Conclusión: La ablación endovenosa es un tratamiento útil en la enfermedad venosa crónica en el sector público, se asocia a menor sangrado, complicaciones y días de estancia hospitalaria.
