Abstract

La ecografía es una herramienta diagnóstica que ofrece grandes ventajas en la recolección inicial de información de manera inmediata para el médico de primer contacto en área de urgencias al lado de la cama del paciente. Se caracteriza por ser una exploración breve y de baja complejidad que permite mejorar la evaluación inicial en tiempo real, para finalmente correlacionar con los datos obtenidos durante el ejercicio clínico. La propuesta del presente protocolo es para la evaluación sistematizada ante un paciente con sospecha de patología hepatobiliar, con la finalidad de obtener probabilidades diagnósticas y con base en un índice de sospecha solicitar estudios complementarios más enfocados, optimizando con ello los tiempos de estancia hospitalaria.
