
A comunidade de macro-invertebrados na liteira participa ativamente na decomposição da matéria orgânica, deixando compostos minerais mais simples e assimiláveis pelas plantas, contribuindo para o aumento do nível de fertilidade do solo. Foi estudado a influencia da massa e estoques de carbono e nutrientes da liteira sobre a composição dos macro-invertebrados em plantios florestais, floresta primaria e secundaria de terra firme, localizados na localidade de Jenaro Herrera, Região de Loreto, Peru. A massa de liteira foi significativamente maior na floresta do que nos demais sistemas (p<0.001). As análises dos resultados indicam que as variáveis dos macro-invertebrados e dos estoques de carbono e nutrientes da liteira foram significativos ao nível de 1 % verificando uma relação significativa dos macro-invertebrados da liteira com a massa e as propriedades químicas da liteira.
