Abstract

Bruchon-Schweitzer reported in 1978 and 1979 that Fisher's Body-Focus Questionnaire may be characterized by two main perceptual patterns, one of which is linked to orality and the other to anality. Results of a principal axis analysis of data for 300 American subjects contradict Bruchon-Schweitzer's conclusions based on responses of French subjects and affirm the independence of the Body-Focus Questionnaire Scales.
