The aim of this paper is to present a lab investigation about the possible decomposition of plastic and glass packaging of bottled water, by using an inverse redox titration. By this technical analysis we measure the amount of oxidizable organic matter in the bottled water and we compare the data of the water stored in plastic (polyethylene terephthalate, PET) and glass bottles which have been exposed to the sun. We analyze the results and explain our conclusions.
