Abstract

Proyecto de esculturas site-specific basadas en datos climáticos capturados en el entorno de edificios concretos. Las esculturas ofrecen una visión alternativa del tales espacios, indagando en las cualidades únicas de cada uno y las relaciones que este establece con su entorno, así como la subjetividad de nuestra percepción del mismo. Creadas por la acumulación de cientos de piezas cuyas formas se basan en la arquitectura del propio edificio y aspectos básicos de nuestra percepción del entorno urbano (como son la luz y temperatura ambiente en diferentes puntos del mismo), cada pieza es un gráfico de visualización de datos en si misma.  Apiladas, la escultura se convierte en una línea temporal (salida del Sol en la base y anochecer en el extremo superior), mientras los cambios de forma en su perímetro se corresponden a las variaciones recogidas por los dispositivos de captura (distribuidos en el perímetro del edificio durante un breve periodo).  Maleables y sin forma fija, puedes retorcer las esculturas y alterar la forma resultante, sin embargo cada una de sus capas aun corresponderá a una visión precisa y analítica de la situación en el perímetro del edificio en el determinado momento que esta representa. En comparación con el estudio detallado de la información que las forma, la acumulación de todas sus capas crea una interpretación de los datos más allá de la visualización analítica; crea un volumen de forma subjetiva con el que podemos relacionarnos, una experiencia única y maleable, al igual que nuestra percepción de tal espacio.
