Crescimento e desenvolvimento econômico na fronteira brasileira

Abstract

O objetivo desse artigo é analisar a convergência entre o crescimento dos setores econômicos e dos indicadores de desenvolvimento socioeconômico das regiões intermediárias na faixa de fronteira brasileira. Com isso, esse estudo identificou a média de convergência com a metodologia proposta por Williamson e Fleming. As variáveis utilizadas para a análise da convergência do crescimento econômico foram o PIB, o PIB per capita e o PIB per capita setorial; para a convergência do desenvolvimento socioeconômico foi utilizado como parâmetro o (IFDM). O período de análise foi 2005 e 2017. Os resultados identificaram que os Arcos da faixa de fronteira apresentarem crescimento econômico em diferentes setores, conforme sua vantagem comparativa. Nos indicadores de desenvolvimento ocorreram divergência, principalmente para as dimensões Educação e Saúde, apontando que as regiões intermediárias da faixa de fronteira ainda têm dificuldades em avançar nos aspectos sociais do desenvolvimento humano.
