Abstract

Este artigo toma o processo de criação do Programa de Pós-graduação em Gestão Urbana, da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, como base para debater a delimitação temática no campo do planejamento urbano e regional. Debate também a importância de uma delimitação operativa de pesquisas neste campo e de uma delimitação de sua rede. Com isso, conclui-se ser possível e necessário pesquisar com foco na inserção social e com/em um contexto geográfico prioritário: a América Latina e seu contexto maior, o Sul Global. Permeiam o artigo questões teóricas sobre temas científicos da área de Planejamento Urbano Regional e Demografia e os modos de organização da pós-graduação brasileira. Palavras-chave: PPGTU. Planejamento Urbano e Regional. Gestão Urbana. Pós-graduação brasileira.
