Abstract

El contacto de lenguas en situaciones de migracion colectiva y masiva no desemboca directamente en la emergencia de una nueva lengua, tampoco directamente en el desuso inmediato y la perdida de una de las lenguas afectadas sino en la emergencia de una diversidad de variedades de contacto. La linguistica del contacto de lenguas debe focalizar sistematicamente esta gama de variedades de contacto. En esta hay variedades mas cercanas a la lengua originaria de los migrantes y otras mas cercanas a la lengua de la comunidad de recepcion. Datos empiricos para esta vision son el “spanglish” y los semicriollos. Tomando el concepto de lengua como diasistema se esta desarrollando un diasistema reestructurado y en este sentido nuevo. Los hablantes en situaciones bilingues construyen los factores relevantes que les guian para su comportamiento linguistico de manera individual. Toman los recursos linguisticos disponibles como repertorio de expresion sin ocuparse mucho de nociones de pureza. La situacion bilingue revela debilidades de la teoria de diasistemas que se define tradicionalmente como perteneciente a una lengua. El diasistema no debe conceptualizarse como arquitectura de variedades de una lengua sino como marco de referencia debe tomarse la comunidad de comunicacion. Por ello se propone una redefinicion parcial del concepto de diasistema.
