Abstract

En este artículo se analiza la sociodinámica entre comuneros y partidistas en los autogobiernos indígenas de Cherán, Arantepacua y Sevina en la meseta purépecha. A partir del modelo de establecidos y marginados de Norbert Elias y de una estrategia cualitativa basada en etnografía longitudinal, en entrevistas narrativas y revisión documental, se muestra que el equilibrio de poder, favorable a los comuneros, posibilita la marginación de los partidistas de los asuntos de gobierno local —al limitar la participación en asambleas comunitarias y electorales—, al tiempo que promueve su estigmatización como infractores de normas comunitarias. El estudio argumenta que “vivir sin partidos” no elimina las identidades partidistas, sino que reorganiza el conflicto intracomunitario y ofrece herramientas analíticas para comprender dinámicas análogas en otras autonomías indígenas.
