Cromosomas, genes y enfermedad.

Abstract

El trabajo se desarrolla en dos secciones bien diferenciadas: enfermedades ocasionadas por anomalías cromosómicas y enfermedades originadas por anomalías en los genes. Ambas partes van precedidas por la exposición de los conceptos básicos de biología molecular que son oportunos para comprender mejor la etiopatogenia de las enfermedades que se describen. Las anomalías que afectan a los cromosomas o a los genes pueden producir muy numerosas entidades patológicas; hemos escogido para narrar aquí las que creemos más importantes, las que -dentro de su rareza- cabe la posibilidad de que sean reconocidas a lo largo de una extensa experiencia clínica y las que tienen una mayor relación con la otorrinolaringología.
