Abstract

Geçmişi eski tarihlere dayanan Bayburt’un bugünkü adına yakın isimlerle anıldığıbilinmektedir. Saltuklu ve Mengücekli egemenliğinde bir süre kalan Bayburt’unasıl imar faaliyetleri Erzurum Selçukluları olarak bilinen dönem içerisinde gerçekleşmiştir. İlhanlılar döneminde de gelişim devam etmiştir. Yavuz Sultan Selim dönemindeOsmanlı’ya bağlanan Bayburt’ta günümüze kadar ulaşan imar faaliyetleri sürdürülmüştür.Yukarıda kısaca bahsedildiği üzere Bayburt ve çevresi gerek İslam öncesindegerek de sonrasında birçok devletin hâkimiyet alanlarından biri olmuştur. Bayburt’takitarihî eserlerde bu devletlerin izlerine rastlandığı gibi bu çalışmada İslamhâkimiyetinin bölgede tesisinden sonra Akkoyunlu ve sonraki dönemlere ait camilerinkitabeleri incelenmiştir. Kitabelerin neredeyse tamamı, bölgenin doğal taş bakımındanzengin olmasından ve taş işçiliğinin gelişmesinden ötürü, taş üzerine işlenmiştir.Kitabelerde sülüs, celi sülüs ve nesih yazı çeşitleri kullanılmıştır
