Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis berdasarkan Minat Belajar Siswa

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan koneksi matematis ditinjau dari minat belajar siswa pada materi kubus dan balok. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif menggunakan desain grounded theory. Subjek penelitian adalah 9 siswa kelas VIII MTsN 3 Kampar, masing-masing 3 siswa mewakili kategori minat tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket minat belajar, tes kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dalam 3 tahapan pengodean, yaitu pengodean terbuka, pengodean berporos dan pengodean selektif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa rata-rata kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa masih rendah. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang sebanding antara minat dengan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Siswa dengan minat tinggi dan sedang dapat memahami hubungan antar konsep matematika, matematika dengan bidang ilmu lain dan koneksi antara konsep matematika dan kehidupan nyata. Sebaliknya, siswa dengan minat rendah hanya memahami hubungan antar konsep matematika. Guru perlu merencanakan pembelajaran dengan baik, memilih strategi yang tepat dan media pembelajaran yang menarik untuk meningkatkan minat belajar dan memfasilitasi kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa.
