Abstract

Ravitsemustieteilijät ovat varsinkin 1970-luvulta alkaen keskustelleet perustaltaan luonnontieteellisen ravitsemustutkimuksen näkökulman laajentamisesta. Tutkijoiden tietämystä ruokatottumusten sosiaalisesta ja kulttuurisesta taustasta on pidetty niiltä osin puutteellisena. Kirjoituksessa arvioidaan kahden antropologisen tutkimusperinteen, ekologisen ja strukturalistisen, soveltamismahdollisuuksia ravitsemustieteeseen.
