Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas ekstrak etanol bunga kertas (Bougainvillea spectabilis) terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Universitas Indraprasta PGRI Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif eksperimen dengan 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu ekstrak bunga kertas (Bougainvillea spectabilis) dengan konsentrasi P1=5%, P2=10% dan P3=15% serta kontrol positif ketokonazol (0,1%) dan kontrol negatif aquades. Berdasarkan hasil uji aktivitas antijamur yang dilakukan dengan metode difusi kertas cakram didapatkan hasil ekstrak bunga kertas (Bougainvillea spectabilis) sebanyak 3 kali pengulangan dalam 3 batch yaitu zona hambat terbesar pada konsentrasi 15% sebesar 11,6 mm dan zona hambat terkecil pada konsentrasi 5% sebesar 6,50 mm. Dengan demikian, ekstrak etanol bunga kertas (Bougainvillea spectabilis) memiliki daya antijamur terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans.
