Pemanfaatan Limbah Tempurung Kelapa Pada Campuran Paving Block

Abstract

Di Indonesia khususnya kota Bandar Lampung tepatnya di pasar-pasar tradisional banyak terdapat penjual kelapa parut yang menyebabkan banyaknya limbah kelapa yang dihasilkan setiap harinya. Biasanya masyarakat mengunakan tempurung kelapa untuk menjadi arang. Melihat banyaknya limbah tempurung kelapa, maka perlu adanya inovasi baru dalam pemanfaatan limbah tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan persentase tempurung kelapa yang digunakan 2,5%, 4,0% dan 6,5% pada umur 7 hari. Dari hasil pengujian didapat nilai kuat tekan rata rata sebesar 150 kg/cm2(14,55 MPa) untuk persentase 2,5 %, 208,25 kg/cm2(17,5 MPa) untuk persentase 4,5 % dan 277 kg/cm2(17,5 MPa) untuk persentase 6,5%. Paving Block normal pada penelitian ini dapat dikategorikan kedalam mutu Paving Block kelas D dengan nilai kuat tekan rata rata 95,75 kg/cm2 yang biasanya dapat digunakan untuk lantai taman, benda uji dengan kode 2,5% dapat digolongkan kedalam mutu kelas C yang mendapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 150 kg/cm2 yang biasanya dapat digunakan untuk lantai pejalan kaki, sedankan kode benda uji 4,5% dan 6,5% tergolong dalam mutu kelas B dengan nilai kuat tekan rata-rata 4,5% sebesar 150 kg/cm2 dan 6,5% sebesar 277 kg/cm2 yang biasanya dapat digunakan untuk pelataran parkir.
