The 1st Microoptics Conference (MOC) was held in Tokyo on October 15–16, 1987. Since then, MOC is held every odd-numbered year in Japan sponsored by The Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP). From 2004, for possible even-numbered years, MOC has been held outside of Japan. Some MOCs were jointed or co-located with other conferences. In my today's talk, general and topical trends on microoptics for the past three decades are reviewed.
