Circularly Polarization Loop Antenna

Abstract

The design and measurements of a wide-band patch antenna with circular polarization are presented. For the proposed antenna, an L-shaped probe is utilized to feed the patch antenna which has square ring and a trapezoid stub. The antenna utilizes a single feed port to realize the right-handed circularly polarized (RHCP) radiation of the dual band of $1575.42\pm 1.023$ MHz for Ll and $1561.098+2\ \text{MHz}$ for Beidou Bl simultaneously. The antenna possess a 10dB return loss bandwidth of 18.75% and a 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth of 2.038%. The Beidou/GPS dual-band integrated antenna is designed to realize circular polarization reception of the Beidou Bl band and GPS Ll band navigation signals at the same time. Through the employment of the triangular stub, the number of discrete antennas in the system is reduced, then system miniaturization and integration is achieved.
