Parasitosis y anemia en la edad inicial del preescolar

Abstract

<p style="text-align: justify;">El presente artículo tuvo como objetivo determinar la frecuencia de parasitosis intestinal y anemia durante la edad preescolar, en niños inscritos en el Centro de Educación Inicial Gabriela Mistral, del cantón de Portoviejo, Ecuador. La población estuvo constituida por 35 niños cuya muestra fue no probabilística, y constituida por aquellos niños que llevaron exámenes de heces y hematología, con edades comprendidas entre 3 a 5 años, de ambos sexos; a cada espécimen fecal se le realizo un examen coproparasitológico directo con el método de concentración-flotación Faust. La metodología utilizada fue de tipo descriptivo y transversal. Los datos obtenidos se analizaron determinado que 61% de la población estudiada presento parasitosis, observándose una frecuencia de 28.6 % Giardia Lamblia, 22 % de Blastocystis Homini, 10,5 % de Endolimax Nana, 12.5 % de Entamoeba Histolytica, 6.25 % de Entamoeba Coli, 6.25 % de Trichomona Homini, 6.25% de Ascaris Lumbricoides. Por otra parte, se tomó en cuenta el peso, talla y edad y se determinó según las tablas de percentiles de la Organización Mundial de la Salud que el 28,4 % de los niños presentaban algún signo de desnutrición. Entre sus conclusiones, se pudo constatar que existe una relación significativa de dependencia entre las parasitosis intestinales y la anemia.</p>
