Termalismo social como fator de promoção da saúde e dinamização da balneoterapia

Abstract

Termalismo Social refere-se ao acesso a balneoterapia nos sistemas nacionais de saude e de protecao social. O estudo comparado do termalismo social em diferentes sistemas nacionais de saude pode identificar potencialidades e desafios comuns nos paises para que a balneoterapia possa se manter e fortalecer enquanto pratica terapeutica de promocao, protecao e recuperacao da saude. Nos estudos comparado tem sido analisado o acesso da populacao e a cobertura dos servicos termais; o financiamento e alocacao dos recursos para o termalismo social; a forca de trabalho; os isumos e tecnologias termais; bem como as prestacoes de servico, regulacao do acesso e os modelos de gestao. Para resistir ao recuo do termalismo em saude, nao apenas sao necessarios os estudos comparados, mas tambem continuar com pesquisas clinicas em balneoterapia e ampliacao das analises economicas na relacao custo/beneficio do termalismo. Tais acoes e estudos podem conduzir a repensar a organizacao dos sistemas termais nos sistemas de saude para que possam ser estabelecidas praticas eficazes e economicamente viaveis na perpetuacao e aprimoramento do termalismo em saude. Para alem do turismo de lazer em estâncias termais, o termalismo social pode ser uma das possibilidades para que balnearios e cidades termais prosperem, e principalmente para que a pratica da balneoterapia seja impulsionada, uma vez que o termalismo em saude tem sofrido declinios constantes.
