Sustentabilidad Energética: un panorama en la industria petrolera global

Abstract

Uno de los retos de mayor significación que enfrenta la humanidad con grandes posibilidades de transformación, es alcanzar una sociedad sustentable. La necesaria transición hacia la descarbonización de la economía se está planteando a nivel global; las advertencias sobre el pico del petróleo y la cada vez mayor tendencia hacia el uso de energías renovables, invitan a considerar un nuevo modelo energético, sustentable y ambientalmente inteligente. De allí que se presenta en este trabajo un análisis general del comportamiento de la industria petrolera global con un horizonte 2050 y las posibilidades de adoptar estrategias que faciliten la transición hacia un nuevo modelo energético. Para comprender la diversidad y complejidad de caracteres implícitos se utiliza el enfoque interpretativo y como método, la hermenéutica; asimismo, se asume las modalidades consecutivas de exploración-descripción-explicación para extraer aspectos fundamentales de la sustentabilidad y su integración al modelo energético actual; y a partir de diversas técnicas de análisis, la adopción de una visión totalizadora, y un proceso de categorización, explicación, abstracción y sistematización, se formularon algunas estrategias para ir propiciando la transición hacia la sustentabilidad energética.
