Abstract

Multicapas de TiN/TiAIN fueron depositadas mediante la técnica d.c. magnetrón sputtering reactivo, a partir de blancos de titanio y aluminio de 10 cm de diámetro y de 99.9% de pureza en una atmósfera de argón-nitrógeno, a una temperatura del sustrato de 300°C y presión de 7x10-3 mbar. Como sustratos se utilizaron probetas de silicio con orientación (100) y de acero AISI M2. Inicialmente, se investigó la influencia del contenido de aluminio sobre la dureza de los recubrimientos de TiAlN y posteriormente se analizó el comportamiento de las propiedades mecánicas de los recubrimientos de TiN/TiAlN en función del número de multicapas. Para tales efectos se determinó la composición química de los recubrimientos mediante es pectroscopia EDX; la estructura cristalina por difracción de rayos X (XRD) y la morfología de crecimiento a través de microscopia electrónica de barrido (SEM). La dureza y la adherencia fueron determinadas por la técnica de la microindentación y de rayado respectivamente.
