Recuperación de Hidrocarburos a partir de residuos de polietileno de baja densidad

Abstract

La acumulación de polietileno de baja densidad constituye un problema que busca prontas y efectivas soluciones. En este sentido, el presente artículo de investigación plantea una alternativa al uso de estos residuos poliméricos. El proceso de pirólisis permite la degradación a combustibles comerciales con ventajas considerables; es el caso de hidrocarburos con menor cantidad de azufre. Se reporta la caracterización de los productos de recuperación de una mezcla de polietileno de baja y alta densidad. Los productos obtenidos fueron comparados con parámetros comerciales para gasolina regular, gasolina extra, nafta virgen y alquilato de alto octano; encontrando que las fracciones presentan una mezcla de gasolina regular y gasolina extra en su mayoría, para intervalos de temperatura entre 120 °C y 320 °C. Así mismo, se diseñó y construyó un reactor de pirolizado con las siguientes condiciones: sistema de vacío, una bomba rotativa de dos etapas, uso de lecho fluidizado de materia prima, separación de los productos a través del condensador con la remoción de los subproductos, sistema de liberación de presión y desprendimiento lateral.
