Tratamiento Coreográfico en el Baile Flamenco

Abstract

Flamenco is an art form that is based on a deeply rooted popular inspiration in the Hispano-Andalusian culture and it is manifested through cante (singing), toque (guitar playing) and baile (dancing). The aim of the choreography in dance depends on two types of choreographer’s intentions: to cause a certain impact on the viewer or to communicate with him. Two choreographic styles exist in flamenco dancing: the traditional and the current one. In order to assure success in flamenco choreography, the basic triad formed by the singer, the guitar player and the dancer, should be aware of the characteristics that identify each flamenco form.
