Authors: Giuseppina Brunetti;

Abstract

The essay illustrates Ernesto Monaci's reflection on the poetry of European origins and, in particular, on the ancient Italian lyric. It also reflects on the figure of the Italian Professor between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, in light of the new philological methods and on the international relations maintained. Starting from the interpretation of documentary and literary data is reflected on the method of the Roman school of philology and on the relevance of some research perspectives
