Fatigue Testing Methods for Elastomer

Abstract

This paper reviews testing methods of fatigue crack growth behavior for elastomer. Standardized testing methods in JIS (Japan Industrial Standard) are summarized first, and fundamental literatures on fracture mechanics in elastic materials are summarized in second section. One part of author’s recent research for evaluating the contribution of cyclic crack growth component on total crack growth rate is to be explained, finally.
