STUDIES ON EPDM TIRES

Abstract

EPDMのタイヤを試作するに際しての製造工程上の問題点とEPDMタイヤの性能の把握を目的として現場の加工機械を用いてEPDMのタイヤを試作し, 実走試験を行なった. その結果, 試作に際しての最大の問題点は未加硫時の粘着力の不足であることがわかった. また, 今回用いたEPDMでは, 耐摩耗性はSBR/BRの市販のコントロールに比較して約10%劣っており, グルーブクラック, オープントレッドスプライス (open tread splice) の問題は起らず, サイドウォール部のオゾンによるき裂は皆無で, コントロールタイヤよりも明らかにすぐれていた.
