Abstract

Para Lamoureux (2000), los objetivos de la ciencia se centran en abarcar la realidad, en primera medida a través de su comprensión y, en segundo lugar, por medio del control que se ejerce sobre ella. Este apartado se centra en la comprensión de la realidad a través de la exploración, descripción y explicación de las relaciones existentes entre los rendimientos obtenidos por los estudiantes en las pruebas censales y la distribución del ingreso en las regiones geográficas o políticas de las cuales provienen dichos estudiantes. Aunque el tema de la incidencia de las asignaciones presupuestales en educación ha sido valorado por diversos autores como determinante en la consecución de logros educativos, este libro pretende generar un esquema metodológico para valorar hasta qué punto los desempeños responden a la variación en el ingreso y desde qué momento estos presumiblemente dejan de agregar valor en los diferenciales de rendimiento. Es así como se determina el grado de relación existente entre la calidad educativa (evidenciada a través de los desempeños de los estudiantes en pruebas censales, Saber 11 y Saber Pro) y la calidad de vida en las regiones Corpes (Consejos Regionales de Planificación), y, por ello, con el ánimo de enriquecer este diagnóstico, vale la pena presentar una corta descripción de las pruebas analizadas y del concepto regional abordado
