Abstract

La invisibilidad de las mujeres en la construcción de las ciu- dades pasa por el no reconocimiento dentro del mismo barrio por parte de los hombres, pero esto no es más que un referente que a nivel macro se extiende a diferentes sectores. Por ejemplo, en los escritos históricos de la construcción de la ciudad, la mayoría da cuenta de los aportes realizados por “ellos” quedando en el trasfondo el papel desempeñado por la mujer en la construcción de la urbe. Al exponer aquí el papel que ha desempeñado la mu- jer de la ladera, no se pretende mostrar el rol secundario, por el contrario, se quiere mostrar su desempeño, visto desde el mismo nivel, puesto en el mismo terreno importante y valioso como ha sido la mano de obra o la fuerza física que los hombres han asu- mido al ir construyendo ciudad.
