Abstract

An additional judge had to be elected on the accession of the Switzerland to the Council of Europe on 6th May 1963, since, under Article 38 of the Convention, the Court consists of a number of judges equal to that of the member States of the Council of Europe. On 18th September 1963, from a list of three candidates proposed by the Federal Government of the Swiss Confederation and presented by the Committee of Ministers, the Consultative Assembly elected to the new seat Mr. A. Favre, Judge at the Federal Court of Switzerland.
