The Economic Value of Nursing Research

Abstract

Despite minimal public and private financial support, nursing research is making significant contributions to the health care of our society.. From studies of infant feeding practices to the investigation of alternatives for care of the elderly, nursing research is playing an important role in improving the cost-effectiveness of patient care. This article will summarize only a few of the many studies done in the past ten years that are obviously related to costeffectiveness.
