logue of Miss Nightingale's surviving letters. In view of Florence Nightingale's manifold interests and of the enormous influence which she exerted, this catalogue should prove a valuable guide for future research, not only into her personal history but also into the history of nursing, hospital planning, public health, army medicine and hygiene, Indian affairs, and sociology generally. But all this lies in the future: the purpose of this short article is to give some account of the more "human" aspects of Florence Nightingale as revealed in her correspondence.
