La novela ecuatoriana contemporánea de 1970-1985 y su marginación

Abstract

Si el impacto del llamado Boom del 60 contribuyo a internacionalizar la novela latinoamericana de modo sin precedente, este fenomeno, no obstante, predetermino tambien el reconocimiento y la promocion de un grupo exclusivo de escritores, como Cortazar, Garcia Marquez, Vargas Llosa y Fuentes. Sin restarles meritos artisticos a estos notables autores, el estudio cuestiona la validez de este reduccionismo historico e insta a reexaminar el canon predominante que margino no solo a otros novelistas de merito, sino tambien a otros generos literarios. Muestra que la novela ecuatoriana fue una de tantas que quedo excluida, a pesar de que experimento su propio Boom a nivel nacional, aportando de forma significativa a las tendencias novelisticas del momento. Considerando el caracter especifico de cada texto, actualiza y contextualiza la situacion de la novela ecuatoriana a traves de una aproximacion teorica multiple dentro ya de la modernidad y lo posmoderno.
