There have recently been revived interests in the application of the theory of degree to existence and uniqueness problem of the general equilibrium. A crucial issue is how to deal with the excess demand function on the boundary of the price domain. Previous contributions in this field have employed assumptions that are different from one another. The prupose of this paper is to unify these boundary conditions by providing a new one which has important economic implications.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 2 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
