The Fujinoki Tomb and Its Grave-Goods

Abstract

La tombe du Fujinoki, a Ikaruga (prefecture de Nara), fut ouverte en 1985 et livra un spectaculaire etalage de harnachements du VIe s. Les sources litteraires, la classant dans les tombes en ''trou de serrure'', l'attribuent a l'empereur Sushun (mort en 592). Description de la tombe | comparaison des mesures avec celles d'autres tombes. Le mobilier funeraire, relativement intact, est compose de ceramiques (types Sue et Hajji), d'un sarcophage en pierre (tuf) du type en forme de maison peint en vermillon et surtout de pieces de harnachements (elements de mors, ornements de joues, etriers, parties de selle, ornements de flanc, de front ou de croupe, boucles, ornements de harnais). Decoration des arcons de la selle, en bronze dore (bestiaire reel et imaginaire contenu dans des hexagones). Essai d'identification de l'occupant de la tombe (l'ouverture du sarcophage apportera certainement des precisions)
